Coach J
Coach J impact goes beyond the teaching, motivation and X's and O's of his on-the-court skills. His incredible charisma, tireless work ethic, captivating speaking skills and widespread appeal have mesmerized the basketball world as well. His arrival in High School basketball generated incredible attention beyond the borders of the state he and his family have come to love.
Coach J began his career as a Junior High Coach and quickly to Asst. Coach at Broadmoor High (Baton Rouge, LA) in 2013. In 2014, he began his first Head Coaching job at Bethany Christian Academy. After one productive season Coach J earned an opportunity to restart the basketball program at Kansas Christian College in Overland Park, Kansas. Coach J is known for getting his players to believe in themselves, instilling the desire to succeed and driving his players to overachieve. His former players speak of his caring nature beyond their basketball skills. Coach J also focuses on building character.

He earned his degree in 2013 from Liberty University Online, where he was an entrepreneur while graduating with a 3.5gpa. In 2015 while being a teacher and coaching he earned a Master's Degree, also from Liberty University Online. Coach J played college basketball at Concordia College, Selma 1996-99 where he was known for his defense and hustle on the court.
Born Dec. 30, 1978, Coach Jay Jenkins is a native of Baton Rouge and attended Glen Oaks High School 1993-96. Despite being dismissed from his high school basketball tryouts, Coach J continued to work on his game while playing AAU basketball at The Sports Academy. There, he became determined that opposition would not stop consistency.
Coach J and his wife Daveta have four children -- Austin, Destiny, Jevean, Isaiah and nephew Quindale.
